While specific work varies from office to office, articling students may participate in a range of legal activities, including client interviews and initial intake assistance, negotiations with the opposing party, legal research and writing, community building and outreach, or participation in administrative hearings or court proceedings. Students who have completed their second year of law school and have been certified under Illinois Rule 711 may have the opportunity to file a lawsuit directly under the supervision of a Lincoln attorney.
